Remember that your hand and fingers will be very slightly larger in warmer conditions than when cold. It is best to measure inside a room with average ambient temperature for an appropriate reading.

Ring measurements for the left hand are different for the same finger of the right hand, usually between a half and one full UK size. While the left hand is generally the smaller of the two, it is the dominant hand which dictates the variance in size. Therefore,  those who are left hand dominant will typically have a larger left wedding ring finger measurement.

It is generally advisable to opt for a size which is very marginally oversized rather than a struggle to remove. Alterations can be added to a ring to mitigate a loose fit, such as precious metal inserts or comfort beads or bumps inside the band.

In reality, a ring rarely fits perfectly on the finger all of the time. Nevertheless it should fit well enough not to slide off nor prove difficult to remove, no matter what the circumstances.
