About The British Pobjoy Mint

Set up by Derek Pobjoy and family in 1965, British Pobjoy Mint is the largest privately owned legal tender and commemorative coin producing mint in Europe.

The mint manufactures and retails legal tender, commemorative and bullion coins under licence with ten British Overseas Territories.

As a private mint, it also produces medals, medallions, official regalia, tokens and numismatic gifts.

As the British Pobjoy Mint strikes official commemorative and circulating currency, all it's coins struck up t0 2022 bear HM Queen Elizabeth II's effigy or the Coat of Arms of the relevant country.

The first coin bearing HM King Charles III's effigy will be struck by Pobjoy in 2023.

Pobjoy Mint UK headquarters and factory are based in the county of Surrey, England. Since 1996, it also has an office located in Minnesota, United States of America.It's UK office serves clients across Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Antarctica whilst the USA office serves clients across North and South America.

The governments the mint has struck legal tender currency for include The Ascension Islands, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Nuie, Seychelles, Sierre Leone, South Georgia/South Sandwich Islands, The Bahamas and Vanuatu.

Since it's inauguration, the mint has won over 100 industry awards for it's quality of coins and minting innovation. In 1990 it was also granted the Queens Award For Export.

In 2004 the Pobjoy Mint began the design, production and sale of new issue stamps as a natural extension of its numismatic business.

From 2016 it has held the coveted ISO 9001 2015 quality mark by BSI which represents recognition of the overall high standard of quality and customer service achieved by the mint. Pobjoy Mint is also a full member of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA)
